CAREER
Stephen G. Harvey is the leader of Steve Harvey Law. Steve graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University School of Law in 1989. He served for one year as a clerk to Judge Myron H. Bright, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Following his clerkship, he entered the Honors Program of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, and served as a trial lawyer in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division from 1990 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995, Steve worked as a litigation associate at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, DC. In 1995, Steve joined Pepper Hamilton LLP and in 2000 became a partner in the commercial litigation department, where he worked until December 2013. In December 2013, he founded Steve Harvey Law, a litigation boutique law firm with offices in Philadelphia that serves clients locally and nationally.
Steve has worked on a wide range of litigation and trial matters throughout his career, including business disputes, government claims, and banking. He has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including trials, appeals, injunctions, arbitrations, mediations, injunctions, and class actions.
Steve is active in the American Bar Association Section of Business Law and its Committees on Commercial and Business Litigation, Banking Law, and Consumer Financial Services. He is the former chair of the Subcommittee on Litigation and Arbitration for the ABA’s Committee on Consumer Financial Services.
PUBLICATIONS
Steve publishes, speaks and writes regularly on topics related to his areas of practice. He is the
author of “Enforcing the Non-Compete and Confidentiality Duties of High Level Executives,” Employment Law Update (Aspen Law & Business 1998).
In 2010, with Pepper Hamilton partner Eric Rothschild, he published an article titled “Defending Darwin” in the ABA publication Litigation Fall 2010 (37:1).

PRO BONO & PUBLIC SERVICE
Steve has an active pro bono practice for persons and causes in need. He has handled pro bono cases involving political asylum, the rights of children, social security, child support, religious liberty, science education, organ allocation, and free speech.
Steve is a longtime volunteer and immediate past president of the board of directors of the Homeless Advocacy Project in Philadelphia.
Steve serves as a judge pro tem/mediator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Steve is a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the National Center for Science Education.
Steve is concerned about the environment and the future of the planet for us and all of our children. He is active in the Sierra Club and Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
